Generic 8th Army Impression
As the Wiltshire Regiment never fought in North Africa during the 8th Army's Campaigns we instead tailor our impression to that of a generic British Infantry soldier. However this may change as we research units and orders of battle during the fighting across North Africa.
The Impression
The following information will give you the basic information to build our North African Impression. This is a basic list of the essentials required to field. There are lots of smaller items that can be added over time that make for a well rounded impression.
Things To Remember
When in doubt about an item contact the Unit Authenticity Officer. It is better to ask questions about something that your unsure of rather then spending large sums of money on the wrong things!
Uniform
The Soldiers in the above pictures show roughly what the uniform will look like. British Soldiers fighting in North Africa usually wore light weight Khaki Uniforms comprised of a light weight shirt, shorts, or pants, standard boots and puttees to keep sand out.
